Libraries Are Still Useful!

17 hours ago 2

Reading is something that I love to do. I also love watching TV, so don’t think I am over here, on my high horse, talking about how I just read and never binge watch Monk. It just so happens that I do feel better, calmer, and more centered after reading a good fiction book.

If you haven’t picked up a book in a bit, here is your nudge to do one of the following.

  • Go to the library and sign up!
    • If you haven’t been to a library in a while, you can enjoy some peace and quiet while you browse physical books!
    • Don’t forget your library has so much more than books. You can get free items like museum tickets.
    • You’ll need your library card for tip #2, so just go to your library and get signed up.
  • Get the Libby App and download audio and e-books.
    • You don’t need a Kindle or additional product to read digital books, you can read them on your computer or on your phone. Just beware of the dreaded blue light before bed.
    • You can now push your holds out if you aren’t ready for them, which makes it super easy to get books when you can actually read them.
  • Amazon did start as a retailer for books. Get the latest copy of your favorite author or maybe your friend’s favorite author from Barnes and Noble or some other online retailer.
  • Want to improve your life and aren’t into reading tales about a small-town guy and his big-city crush? Visit BiggerPockets Best Selling Books and get started leveling up your skills.

Not sure what to read? Check out your library’s book club books, ask a friend, or ask me! Or, just download Goodreads.
