Is this lavish new build the trendiest home on the market right now?

An epic luxury home is blowing up the internet, with its Mediterranean-inspired design and Instagram-worthy interiors making it one of the most viewed properties online.

With its curvaceous exterior, graceful archways, textured walls, soothing warm colour palette and liberal use of natural stone throughout, the immaculate five-bedroom house has incorporated all the hottest home trends of today.

The lavish house is proving a hit with property watchers, getting more views on realestate.com.au over the past week than any other home in NSW.

But for owner and builder Imran Hafda who is the managing director of construction company Empcon, the home’s design was about more than just building what’s in fashion right now.

Mr Hafda told realestate.com.au the idea for the project originated while he and wife Rehab were touring through the south of Spain on their honeymoon.

Taking inspiration from the region’s Moorish architecture and their Middle Eastern heritage, the couple were keen to combine their creative energies in a project that would put their neighbourhood on the map.

At first glance you would be forgiven for thinking that the high-end home is located in one of Sydney’s exclusive beachside suburbs or the glitzy Gold Coast.

But it’s actually found in Roselands, a formerly working class neighbourhood in western Sydney that’s now on the way up.

Roselands has a median house sale price of $1.455 million, according to PropTrack, but the high-end home is expected to sell for more than double that.

Mr Hafda said part of the couple's aim with the luxury build was to uplift values in the conveniently-located suburb, which is about 20 minutes' drive from the CBD.

“I always thought Roselands was underrated,” he said. “I really wanted to boost it up.”

“All the surrounding areas were doing well but Roselands was in limbo.”

No expense was spared in the high-end home, especially when it came to the custom curved stone benchtop.

Mr Hafda said he decided to double down on Nicoll Street, where he had success last year selling his family home for $2.83 million after completing a knockdown-rebuild of the two-bedroom cottage on the block that he bought for $400,000 back in 2014.

“I really enjoyed building and living in the street,” he said. “I’ve got a good relationship with the neighbours.

“People think you have to only build these properties in the eastern suburbs. But luxury homes are now getting built on all the streets around here.”

“The neighbouring areas are doing high $3 million to $4 million, so I don't see why Roselands shouldn't get the same,” he said.

Three houses have sold in Roselands for more than $3 million in the past year, all of which were large, recently-built family homes.

Selling agent Karem Lakiss of Mayfair Real Estate, who specialises in luxury new builds, said the property would appeal to local upsizers or buyers seeking a high-end home in a suburb that offered better value than pricier areas.

“There's certainly demand for brand new property in the area, especially luxury properties,” he said.

Mr Lakiss said the suburb’s strategic location, with the nearby M5 and M8 motorways providing easy access to the city, as well as older housing stock that’s rapidly making way for new builds, meant Roselands was destined to become more desirable with wealthy buyers.

“Roselands is on the up,” he said. “There’s a lot of new construction going on. It's really starting to appeal to a lot of buyers.”

The project was a family affair, with Mr Hafda on the tools and Rehab tackling interior design duties with the help of AA Tiles, which supplied the interior fixtures, and Marblous handling the stonework.

“It wasn't an easy job, but in the end it was so rewarding,” Mr Imran said.

Mr Hafda said his favourite feature of the home was curved stone island benchtop taking pride of place in the kitchen.

“I was like, ‘I’m doing it and I don’t care how much it costs’,” he said.

He said he hoped the home would leave a lasting impression on the neighbourhood.

“I built it to last, I paid attention to detail and put love and heritage into it.”
