Jeff Bezos’ $US175 million ($A273 million) Beverly Hills estate has raised eyebrows over its gigantic fence.

A video clip of the Amazon founder’s compound was shared on the r/intrestingtoknow subreddit, showing the hedge towering above the street.

According to Top Closings, the insanely high barrier is the tallest residential fence in the area.

“My hats off to whoever maintains this,” one commenter wrote on the post.

“We all paid for that,” another jokily said.

“Love thy neighbour … but don’t trim the hedge,” a third person commented.

“What a sad and isolated life. Imagine having so much that your primary concern is distance from everyone else. No thank you,” a fourth commentator wrote.

In 2020, Bezos dropped a record $US165 million for David Geffen‘s Los Angeles mansion, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Known as the Warner Estate, the 9-acre spread was built for the now-late former president of Warner Bros, Jack Warner.

The house features “expansive terraces, sprawling gardens, several guesthouses, a tennis court and its own 9-hole golf course,” according to the WSJ.

Last year, the Daily Mail reported that Bezos hired builders to extend his property further, adding an extra 1,000 square feet to the already generously sized area.

The crew installed a new pool house, extra rooms and a game court fence with lighting.

The planning permission for these extra amenities was denied at first due to insufficient paperwork.

A month later, the administrative issue was resolved and work continued.

The work on extending his Beverly Hills mansion continued when Bezos also bought the adjacent home for $US10 million.

The house is made up of four bedrooms, four-and-a-half-bathrooms, a courtyard and pretty gardens.

The tech entrepreneur, who has a net worth of $US200 billion ($A319 billion), has several properties in Hawaii, Washington DC, Seattle, New York, Florida and a ranch in Texas.

His Miami portfolio includes three mansions on Indian Creek Island, which is also known as “Billionaire Bunker.”
