Hollywood star Bradley Cooper has been the owner of some of the country’s most enviable homes, from a sprawling mansion in Pacific Palisades, CA, to a staggering Manhattan penthouse.

Earlier this year Cooper was revealed to be the buyer of a sprawling 33-acre farm in Pennsylvania for a cool $10.1m (US$6.5m).

But it turns out, the 49-year-old actor may well have started his real estate journey in a small, humble space: a tiny studio apartment in New York City, according to Realtor.com.

That apartment is now the subject of social media buzz after its most recent resident took to TikTok to share a tour of the home, before revealing a shocking plot twist: It was once home to the 12-time Oscar nominee.

Influencer Diana Trenkmann stunned her followers when she posted a video tour of her former home, which is located in Greenwich Village and boasts incredible views of the Manhattan skyline.

The home has since been sold, according to Trenkmann.

Though the picture-perfect decor captivated viewers, it was undoubtedly the apartment’s star-studded history that caused the biggest stir.

“Today I’m going to be giving a proper tour of this place,” Trenkmann began her video, before adding: “Also honourable mention Bradley Cooper lived in this exact unit many, many years ago, so that’s my fun apartment lore.

“So this is my front door. And when you walk in, this is the immediate view of the apartment. I have a coat closet here, and then we get to see inside the kitchen. I love an open kitchen concept. It just makes the space feel so much bigger.”

The apartment features two beautiful built-in bookshelves and a small bar placed in a nook for hosting. There’s plenty of space to fit a bed, couch, dresser, nightstands, and a coffee table.

“For a New York City apartment, I get so much natural light,” Trenkmann said.

“Obviously, I’m a corner unit, so that’s why. And then on this side, I have a view of the Empire State Building. At night, it’s so pretty because you could see the lights poking through these two buildings.”

She showed off a clever storage shelf that sits high up in her bathroom, along with a massive vanity with more storage.

Up a steep set of stairs, she turned a loft space into a closet.

“These steps are definitely kind of steep, as you can tell,” she said.

“But this is what my loft space looks like. I’ve turned it into a massive closet. As you can see, I was able to fit three full clothing racks up here.”

A mirror and art prints complete the closet.

An outdoor space decorated with string lights is for her private use. In true New York fashion, you have to crawl out a window to access it.

“I’m so grateful that I got to live here for the time period that I did. I was here for about three years, and I am moving out of here very, very soon,” Trenkmann told her TikTok followers.

“So it’s definitely very sad, I love it here so much. I’m going to miss it so much.

“This apartment has so much lore. Bradley Cooper lived here. Some NYU drug dealer also lived here back in the day.

“It’s just such a cool apartment.

“I honestly have never seen any other New York City apartment like this. The layout is just so unique.”

After sparking a frenzy of excitement — and intrigue — with her original video, Trenkmann followed up her tour with a Q&A video in which she answered questions about the property, revealing that Cooper was not the only A-list former resident of the building, which is called The Albert.

“It is a very historical apartment building,” Trenkmann said.

“The Mamas & [the] Papas lived here. There’s a plaque in my lobby, and it’s a picture of the Mamas & Papas, and on it, it says California Dreamin’ was written in The Albert.

“Also Salvador Dali lived here, obviously I mentioned that Bradley Cooper lived in this exact unit.”

She added that Cooper resided in the home before he filmed the hit 2009 movie “The Hangover,” claiming that he lived in the apartment with his former spouse. Although Trenkmann did not name the woman in question, Cooper has been married only once — to actress and director Jennifer Esposito.

They wed in 2006, then split less than a year later.

“What they did was they actually purchased this apartment and the apartment below me, and they were actually going to combine the two apartments and make probably the most gorgeous apartment ever,” she went on.

“They ended up getting divorced, so that’s why that didn’t happen and I have had the privilege of living here instead.”

Trenkmann revealed that her rent for the three years she lived there started at $2,500 (A$3,800), increased to $3,000 in her second year, and was $3,500 in her final year.

Records show that the property, which was listed by Ryan Serhant‘s company Serhant, was sold for $850,000 (A$1.28m) in August.

These days, Cooper enjoys a much more spacious New York City home, a penthouse apartment in the West Village, which he is understood to have purchased for $13.5 million (A$20.3 million) in 2018 — the same year that he released his “A Star Is Born” remake.

He also owns two homes in Pacific Palisades, CA, a $4.7 million home that he bought in 2009 and the property that he snapped up for $4.8 million (A$7 million) a few years later.

Cooper’s former home in Venice, CA, which was the first property he ever owned, was put on the market for $2.4 million (A$3.6 million) in 2023—19 years after he bought it for just under $1.2 million.
