From a beachfront Malibu compound impacted by major fires to international property tax disputes, these movie stars have invested their Hollywood salaries into exclusive global addresses.

But, the actor’s real estate investments became the subject of a legal dispute.

The Untouchables star and his wife Micheline sold their villa in Marbella, Spain, for $9.3m (€6.4m).

The site was subsequently demolished to make way for a luxury apartment complex, triggering an investigation by Spanish authorities for alleged tax evasion.

While Connery was cleared of any wrongdoing, his wife faced property tax fraud charges.

Australian-born George Lazenby starred in just one Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, before a dramatic exit from the franchise.

Despite signing a contract for six more films and being offered a hefty $1.5 million ($US1 million) to star in Diamonds Are Forever, Lazenby quit the role due to creative differences.

After stepping away from the Bond franchise, the entertainer made a successful commercial pivot into business and real estate investment. He used his capital to build a residential property portfolio.

Lazenby also maintained a presence in the Australian property market. He purchased a Sophia Street townhouse in Crows Nest for $60,000 with his then-wife Christina, selling the home for $2.45m.

His earlier property plays included a waterfront home in Cammeray bought for $215,000 and sold for $2,253,281, alongside a luxury residence in Mosman shared with his former wife, US tennis star Pam Shriver.

In the US, the actor listed his ranch homestead at Pearlblossom in Los Angeles County for $3.49m.

Moore owned Sherwood House, a 1920s country estate in Buckinghamshire, living there while filming iconic 007 installments Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me.

The 11-acre residence featured five bedrooms, a private tennis court, a swimming pool, and a wine cellar.

His European real estate footprint included renting a three-bedroom Belgravia apartment in a stucco London building overlooking Eaton Square — a property later listed for sale at $11m (£5.75m) — and renting Appleton House, a six-bedroom Edwardian estate in the Cotswolds valued at $4m (£2.1m).

In his final years, Moore split his time between high-end residences in Monaco and Switzerland.

Timothy Dalton

Timothy Dalton portrayed the MI6 spy in two films, earning an estimated $4.3m ($US3m) for The Living Daylights.

His fee was lifted to $7.2m ($US5m) for Licence to Kill, bringing his total franchise earnings to $11.5m ($US8m).

The Welsh-born actor owns homes in Los Angeles and the leafy London suburb of Chiswick.

The Golden Globe nominee built an extensive real estate collection among the 007 alumni, centred around a custom-built estate on Malibu’s Broad Beach.

The Mars Attacks! star forked out $10.6m ($US7.4m) to acquire two adjacent beachfront land parcels to construct a Tahitian-style mansion known as Orchid House.

The property turned into a major source of income for Brosnan and his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, fetching up to $360,000 ($US250,000) a month in rent during summer.

The couple placed the property on the market for $150m ($US100m) before later withdrawing the listing.

The compound has been affected by major local incidents. A fire destroyed a portion of the home, damaging the garage housing the 2002 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish driven by Brosnan on screen in Die Another Day.

The property sustained further regional damage when the Woolsey Fire moved through the Malibu area.

Outside of Malibu, Brosnan sold a separate foreclosure property for $3.7m ($US2.6m), purchasing a $3.4m ($US2.4m) home in Santa Monica.

He owns a multi-home compound on the Hawaiian island of Kauai near neighbours including tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.

Daniel Craig was the franchise’s highest-paid spy, banking $4.6m ($US3.2m) for Casino Royale.

The actor expanded his US holdings by purchasing a Soho penthouse for $16.5m ($US11.5m) alongside wife Rachel Weisz, before adding a $9.7m ($US6.75m) Brooklyn brownstone.

In the UK, Craig maintains a luxury two-floor flat located near London’s Regent’s Park.
