Telsas will be available on demand to residents of the just-completed Aura development in North Sydney.

Three Model 3 Teslas will be parked within the Walker St development for people to book through the Outbound app on their phone for $120 a day or $20 an hour.

Outbound chief executive Luke Rust says the vehicle pool means residents don’t need to own a car with the Teslas providing convenience and value.

Outbound chief executive Luke Rust says the Model 3 Teslas will cost residents $20 per hour or $120 for the day.

“The average car in Sydney now costs something like $25,000 per year to own and operate compared to renting an Outbound Tesla, which might only set you back a few thousand dollars,” he says.

The 28-storey Aura development has 371 apartments, one- to four-bedroom units and a swag of amenities such as a pool, gym, private theatre and rooftop skydeck.

Unit prices start at $1.14m, two-bedders are being offered at $1.93m and three-bedders are selling at $3.7m.

The cars are provided by infrastructure services provider SUPA.

Chief strategy officer James Dunstan says lifestyle doesn’t stop and start at the front door.

“Aura is one of the most state-of-the-art buildings in Sydney, so it seems obvious to extend that to how residents move around,” he says.

“If they do take one of the Teslas for a spin, all they have to do is plug it back in to our onsite charging stations.”

Apart from the three Tesla charging stations, there are four more communal EV charging stations for residents at Aura.
