A renovated Fannie Bay home sold under the hammer for $1.3m this week after a successful auction campaign.
The four-bedroom home at 4 Crush St, Fannie Bay, marketed by Sascha Smithett and Julian Brown of Real Estate Central, attracted strong interest from buyers.
“We had 87 groups through during the 21 days on market and seven registered bidders at the auction,” Ms Smithett said.
“The property sold for $1.3m under the hammer.”

Ms Smithett said the atmosphere at the Tuesday night auction was one of excitement with the successful buyers happy to have locked down a Darwin home after moving to the Top End.
“They’re busy people who wanted a place where they could relax and enjoy themselves,” she said.
Ms Smithett said while auctions weren’t as common in Darwin as they were in other capital cities, they were a great option for sellers.
“I love an auction because of the transparent and unconditional nature of it,” she said.
“The buyers can clearly see what they’re up against and make the decision on whether to pay more to secure the property, or not.”

Ms Smithett said not every home was suited to go to auction but for the right property in the right circumstance, it was a great option for sellers.
“A lot of our Sydney and Melbourne buyers are very used to purchasing at auction,” she said.
“For a lot of Darwin purchasers, it’s not as familiar to them and if you’re unfamiliar you’ll probably be a bit nervous … but the agent can guide the buyer through the process.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of.
“If you love a house (going to auction), get finance pre-approved, look at the property reports and go for it.”
According to PropTrack data, Darwin generally only has one or two auctions per week with 10 homes going to auction currently being marketed in the region.
