Offering a resort-style getaway in the middle of suburbia, this Mediterranean-inspired home proved hot property at auction where it set a new price record within minutes.
The four-bedroom home at 5 Byhurst Ave, Frewville sold under the hammer for $2.56m, eclipsing the previous record – which was only set a month earlier – by $60,000.

Selling agent Henry Gower Tillett of Harris Real Estate said the 848sqm property had been owned by the same family for decades with the modern home, built in 2015, replacing a sixties-style residence.
“We had a huge number of people through the campaign over three weeks, which led to multiple bidders on auction day,” he said.
“It was one of the most popular properties I had listed over the last few months. Buyers loved every aspect of it.
“The Mediterranean garden and outside entertaining areas really just made it stand out from the crowd.”
The entertainer’s delight featured open-plan proportions, with a central kitchen, dining and living area at the heart of it.
All four bedrooms offered walk-in robes, while the home’s two bathrooms bathed in top-to-toe tuxedo tones.
And where better to plan for or cherish those holiday memories than in the travel room (AKA home office/media zone) with a French door transit to the self-landscaped Sicilian brilliance that’ll inspire them.
Other noteworthy features include a fully tiled, north-facing pool, an edible, sensory garden, a 6.6kW solar system, Aiphone video intercom, and a double garage.
The home is one of just 13 properties to have sold in the tightly-held suburb this year.
