Glenelg penthouse with marina views is true pinnacle of coastal living

3 weeks ago 9

A Glenelg apartment offers you the opportunity to live the ultimate coastal lifestyle in a location its owners say is simply the greatest place on Earth.

Vendor Phil and his wife bought the stunning penthouse off the plan in 1998, attracted by its stellar location and enviable outlook over both the sea and picturesque foothills.

It’s a location he has loved for the past 24 years, and although selling, he certainly won’t be giving it up.

“You can’t help but be mesmerised by that water,” Phil says.

“Many mornings you’ll see a dolphin swimming out the front or a sea lion, and there are always people walking their dogs along the beach. It’s truly refreshing.

“You wake up every morning and think ‘I’m so blessed to live such an incredible lifestyle’. Out the front we have the ocean view and then at the rear the Adelaide Hills, the airport and the marina and its yachts – it’s wonderful.

“There’s always movement around the place too, so it’s a very exciting place to live. But at the same time it’s quiet and private. We have a spectacular community here, where we get together for Christmases and we all look out for each other, but we’re not in each other’s pockets.”

The penthouse has been designed to offer unparalleled luxury and comfort.

The home offers views across the marina and promenade.

It spans across two levels and boasts an impressive 340sqm floorplan.

The penthouse offers some 340sq m of indoor and outdoor living space and has four balconies.

Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms, a bathroom, a laundry and a spacious family room, but the real heart of the home is the lower level, with its open-plan kitchen, family, dining and living area, and luxe master suite with walk-through robe and sophisticated ensuite.

An in-built Bose sound system, an Insinkerator, two parking spaces and sensor blinds are just a few of the home’s perks.

“It’s a fantastic entertainer,” Phil says.

“Because there are balconies on both the western and eastern sides you really can entertain here year round.

“Breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinners – we’ve hosted lots of parties and fundraisers here, and we have six grandchildren who love coming over for sleepovers and having their own space. But we just don’t need that much space anymore.”

Multiple living and entertaining areas are thoughtfully spread across both levels.

The kitchen features Meile appliances, including an induction cooktop, oven, microwave and warming draw.

The modern bathrooms include a master ensuite and a guest powder room.

Having travelled extensively, Phil says it offers a fantastic lock-up-and-leave lifestyle and would suit a range of buyers.

“It’s always special to return to Adelaide and enjoy the many benefits of beach living, whether it be winter or summer,” Phil says.

“We love it here and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, and we’re not – we’re simply moving about 15m down the hallway to something on a single level to make life a bit easier down the track.”

The property is on the market with Harcourts Packham without a price guide.
