The new $2.3m Hilltop Park has opened at Harriott estate.
A new $2.3m playground overlooking Sparrovale Wetlands has opened at Armstrong Creek’s Harriott estate.
A half court for basketball and netball, a scooter pump track and a 670m fitness circuit are among a suite of features designed to draw visitors of all ages to Hilltop Park.
Local families who helped shaped the 8000sq m green space were among the first to road test its flying fox, swings and climbing structures.

The new parkland on Amphirite Way also incorporates interactive and educational elements that pay tribute to the neighbouring wetlands and the region’s birdlife.
Sparrovale Wetlands, Ngubitj yoorree in Wadawurrung language, is a Ramsar-listed site that provide critical habitat for migratory birds.
The park, designed by Spiire and built by Moolap firm BC Garden Construction, reflects the diverse landscapes these birds cover on their journey from Siberia, culminating in reed-like play tower with wetland views.
Jinding national development director of communities Chris Ravat said the parkland delivered on a promise to residents that was more than two years in the making.
The Harriott housing estate in Armstrong Creek is adjacent to the Ramsar-listed Sparrovale Wetlands.
He said it was a natural extension of the existing linear green strip at the heart of Harriott and would eventually connect to shared wetland trails.
“One of the original promises of Harriott was that every household would be within 200m of open space and one of the ways that we were unable to unlock that was through that linear park,” Mr Ravat said.
“I feel like the crowing jewel to that linear reserve is Hilltop Park and that it brings it all together.
“We made a pretty significant investment in the park, considering we have already sold most the lots … but I think it was really important from a legacy perspective to deliver that project as well tip the hat to the existing natural beauty and surrounds.”
Renders of the first series of townhouses at Harriott, which are now under construction.
The unveiling of the Hilltop Park coincides with construction starting on the first 45 townhouses at Harriott.
The estate will eventually feature 164 townhouses, as well as 464 homes, including 12 on larger acreage blocks.
About 90 per cent of land lots released are now sold, with Jinding offering $40,000 off its final two acreage lots and $25,000 off select standard lots.
