1 month ago 9

As Paris holds the world’s attention, chic Parisian and charismatic French Provincial-style homes are making their mark halfway around the globe in Australia’s real estate market.

For the Francophiles who want a slice of French design down under, you can find a range of houses and apartments sporting these favoured European features.

Chandeliers, high ceilings, parquetry flooring and classic finishings are just some of the interior hallmarks of the French aesthetic.

Not to forget the romantic wrought-iron balconies and tall French windows that are reminiscent of Paris's iconic boulevards.

One of the standout French-inspired homes currently on the market is the grand four-bedroom residence at 31 Milson Road in Sydney’s harbourside suburb of Cremorne Point.

Selling agent Rob Jacobs from O'Gorman & Partners Real Estate Co – Mosman said plenty of buyers were attracted to Parisian and French Provincial-style homes.

“We don’t see a lot of French Provincial-style homes that come onto the market around here, but when they do, they’re always a popular offering,” Mr Jacobs said.

“It’s a style that is sought after. We’ve had a lot of enquiries about this home, with people coming out of the woodwork who aren’t actively searching for a home right now but have seen it online and like the style and feel of it."

According to the listing, the Cremorne Point abode features solid Oak herringbone parquetry flooring, Provincial-style gas fireplace and soaring ornate ceilings.

Of course, it comes with a wine cellar and high-end kitchen, as well as French doors that lead out to a travertine courtyard and landscaped garden.

“It’s a well-known home in the area,” Mr Jacobs said.
