Fox News Host Peter Doocy Announces His Wife Is Pregnant With 3rd Child—1 Year After Co-Star Dad Steve Relocated to Florida

1 day ago 5

Fox News host Peter Doocy and his wife, Hillary Vaughn, have announced that they are expecting their third child—sharing their happy news during a live broadcast of the network's show "The Sunday Briefing."

Doocy, 38, who serves as Fox News' senior White House correspondent, and Vaughn, 36, who previously worked as a correspondent for the Fox Business Network, already share daughter Bridget, 3, and son George, who just turned 1.

The family resides in a stunning home in Fairfax, VA, which the couple purchased for $1.7 million in 2023, just a few months after welcoming their daughter, Bridget.

Luckily, there is still plenty of room for their growing family in the property, which boasts five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms—and is handily located just a 40-minute drive from the White House in Washington, DC, where Doocy currently works.

However, when it came to taking photos for their latest pregnancy announcement, it appears the couple chose a very different location: Florida, where Doocy's father and Fox News colleague, Steve Doocy, and his wife, Kathy, relocated in June 2025.

Steve revealed during an emotional appearance on the hit morning show "Fox & Friends" that he was stepping down from his full-time role on the series to move from New Jersey to the Sunshine State, where he and his wife already owned a vacation home.

At the time, Steve, 69, explained that he had grown tired of commuting into the network's Manhattan studios from his longtime home in New Jersey, revealing that he had spent the better part of 30 years waking up at 3:30 a.m. to make it to the Big Apple in time for the show's daily broadcast.

“After decades of getting up at 3:30 and driving into New York City in the dark, today is the last day I will host the show ... from the couch. I am not retiring, I’m not leaving the show. I’m still a host—but it’s time for a change," he said.

Steve then took on a new position as the show's "coast-to-coast host," a decision that came after he called Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott—someone he called a "friend for over 30 years"—to discuss what other roles might be available to him.

“She gave me a great option—to keep working on this show ... just not every day. Essentially, it’s the Johnny Carson deal. Remember, Johnny worked his three days in Burbank—and I’ll be based in Florida, which means you may never see me in a necktie again," he joked at the time.

Soon after his announcement, Steve and his wife listed their longtime dwelling in Wyckoff, NJ, ultimately selling the property for $1.73 million, just $25,000 less than his original asking price.

They now live full time in their former vacation home in Jupiter, FL, which they purchased for $1 million in 2014. The elegant abode boasts three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and is located just a short distance from the nearest beach.

It appears that the stunning neighborhood served as the backdrop for Doocy and Vaughn's pregnancy announcement shoot—where they can be seen posing in front of the water with their two children.

The photos also capture the happy family of four paddling in the ocean, with Vaughn holding her son in one arm, while she and Doocy are each seen holding their daughter's hands as she laughs alongside them.

Palm trees can be seen in the background of the snaps, which both Doocy and Vaughn shared on their respective Instagram accounts, writing in a joint statement: "That feeling when you’re going to be a BIG SISTER and a BIG BROTHER!"

They then revealed that their third child is actually due on Oct. 19—which just so happens to be grandpa Steve's 70th birthday.

"Baby Doocy No. 3 coming this fall (due on @stevedoocy birthday!)," they continued. "Doocy Party of 4, soon to be Doocy Party of 5."

Steve was one of the first to congratulate the happy couple, writing in a comment posted alongside a clip of his son's "Sunday Briefing" segment: "Another grandkid, thanks Peter and Hillary!"

The Doocy family's latest baby announcement contrasts hugely with their festive-themed reveal of Vaughn's second pregnancy, which they shared in December 2024.

"Good tidings of great joy ... we are having a BOY!" the couple shared, while posing next to the Christmas tree in their Virginia home, where Vaughn was seen putting up a stocking with "Baby #2" embroidered across it, while baby Bridget was shown posing with a giant pencil and a letter to Santa asking for a brother.

Doocy and Vaughn have been living in DC for many years now—with the former relocating to the capital in 2010, after Doocy secured a postgraduate position with Fox News, where his father has worked for nearly two decades.

The happy couple previously showed off their home in a photo shoot for People magazine, when they revealed images of their son, George, for the first time.

Vaughn revealed to the outlet that she was actually busy reporting from Capitol Hill just hours before the birth of her son on April 16, explaining that she made her way straight from her Tax Day coverage to a routine appointment with her obstetrician, who said her baby was "ready to come out."

"Maybe he was tired of hearing me talk about taxes, I don’t blame him!" she joked.

Meanwhile, her father-in-law revealed that his son had also had a somewhat action-packed lead-up to the birth of his second child, explaining that he learned Vaughn was in labor shortly after a bird landed on his head during a live broadcast outside the White House.

According to Steve, his son was midway through a report when "out of nowhere, a dive-bombing bird smacked him in the head.

"That night, Peter went home, shampooed his hair to get the dirty bird out, and Hillary went into labor sometime after the cream rinse," he shared.

Luckily, Vaughn and Doocy had quite a wait before they would get the chance to meet their newborn—who arrived after 30 hours of labor.

Still, Vaughn insisted that her baby boy was more than worth the wait, while proudly posing with her son in the family's beautiful home.

According to a prior listing for the property, it was previously owned by a builder who poured plenty of time and energy into creating a dream family dwelling, with the description hailing it as a "distinctive and refined" abode.

It "exudes fine touches and luxury finishes almost too numerous to list," the listing went on.

Those special details include custom cabinetry, top-of-the-line appliances, and double dishwashers in the kitchen, a home office with a separate entrance, custom antebellum antique hardwood floors throughout, and en suite bathrooms for every bedroom.

Entertaining spaces abound in the home, which features a "massive oversized basement" with a wet bar and gym, as well as a library, an expansive living room, and manicured gardens

Perhaps most importantly for the growing family, the home was also outfitted with a "comprehensive state of the art security system."
