A Footscray penthouse with its own rooftop spa, panoramic city views and direct lift entry has hit the market with a $2.3m –$2.5m guide.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom sky home crowns a boutique block of just 16 at 502/66 Pickett St and delivers almost 500sq m on title — 272sq m internally plus a 156sq m private rooftop.

Designed for high-end living and entertaining, it includes an individually titled remote-controlled double garage with right-of-way access and direct lift into a terrazzo-finished foyer.

Buxton Inner West director Matthew John has called it “the best apartment in Melbourne’s west”.

“From a pure apartment perspective, it has to be up there with the best in Melbourne,” Mr John said.

“Every time you open the door and step onto that rooftop, the wow factor doesn’t fade.”

The chef’s kitchen is a centrepiece: striking green onyx stone to the island and splashback, premium Smeg appliances with dual wall ovens, induction cooktop and warming drawer, integrated fridge/freezer and a Hisense wine fridge.

Throughout are peppercorn parquetry floors, sheer curtains with recessed pelmets, smart lighting and power points, and fluted privacy windows.

Zoned Panasonic reverse-cycle heating/cooling and underfloor heating in all bathrooms add year-round comfort.

Accommodation is headlined by a luxe main suite with a walk-in robe and imported Swedish champagne-gold carpet, while each additional bedroom has its own ensuite and custom robes.

A dedicated home office with bespoke cabinetry makes working from home seamless.

Crowning the residence is a private rooftop oasis reached via a remote-controlled roof hatch.

Mr John said the top level is set up for effortless entertaining with a six-seater Vortex spa, outdoor kitchenette with built-in wine fridge, wall-mounted television and multiple zones to take in uninterrupted views across the skyline and Maribyrnong.

“It elevates the home into something almost untouchable,” he said.

The Buxton Inner West director added that interest is coming from buyers who don’t usually look to the inner west.

“Families who’d normally rule out apartments because of size are inspecting, this one has genuine house-like proportions,” Mr John said.

“We’re also seeing Bayside and South Yarra buyers realising they can get double the lifestyle here for the same spend.”
