Crankton has sold for $43.5m to food blogger Stephanie Bonley-Buhre and her venture capitalist husband Oskar Buhr.

Food blogger Stephanie Conley-Buhre, who recently sold for $80m, has promptly bought her next trophy home for $43.5m.

She and her venture capitalist husband Oskar Buhre saw the Espie Dods-designed home known as Monkton in Cranbrook Rd, Bellevue Hill last Friday, insiders say, and the deal was wrapped up the very next day.

“She knows exactly what she wants, and obviously has the funds to pay for it,” one said.

Conley-Buhre is certainly cashed up, having bought the nearby mansion Alcooringa for $28.5m in 2021, done a reno and sold it last month for $50m more.

The couple saw the home last Friday and the deal was done on Saturday.

They were impressed by the home’s grandeur and massive rooms..

The woman with the golden touch’s next challenge is the home of veteran investment banker Tim Burroughs and his wife, Judith, who’d bought it for $30m 18 months ago.

The Conley-Buhres were apparently bowled over by the potential of the five-bedroom mansion on the 1,252sqm block, impressed by its massive rooms, grandeur, harbour views and dual street access.

Neither the sales agent William Manning, who this week returned to McGrath Double Bay after a year with Double Bay Malouf, or the buyer’s agent Simon Cohen, would comment on the deal, though other sources speculated that the recent purchase could be their “forever home”.

Their new home also has glorious harbour views.

“It’s a beautiful property but no doubt Stephanie, who is the most talented property person in this city, will put her own stamp on it — she’s so clever!” the source said.

Monkton has had a long list of notable owners, having been owned by High Court judge Sir Dudley Williams in the 1920s, who sold it to a British Conservative MP, Lord Angus Maude, in 1958.

Stephanie is the daughter of the late aviation pioneer and philanthropist John Conley.
