Five major Perth developments greenlit by government funding

These new Perth apartment blocks have just received crucial funding intended to accelerate home construction across WA’s capital.

The Western Australian Government has revealed the latest round of funding recipients from its Infrastructure Development Fund (IDF), with 15 new projects poised to deliver over 1,200 new apartments across Perth.

An $80 million fund comprising three funding programs, the IDF aims to facilitate the development of new housing in Perth’s metro regions by offsetting the costs associated with infrastructure constraints.

These new projects will share up to $12 million under Stream 1, the Targeted Apartment Rebate program, to help deliver apartments across the Perth metropolitan area, near train stations and activity centres.

"Since it was launched, our government's $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund has played a key role in accelerating housing supply in Western Australia,” WA planning and lands minister John Carey said.

"The funding assistance for upfront essential infrastructure costs is helping industry to unlock a pipeline of projects to deliver thousands of new apartments.”

These are the five biggest projects from the latest round of funding that will bring over 1000 new homes to WA’s capital.

Burswood Point - 51 Seabiscuit Drive, Burswood

Nestled along the banks of Perth’s Swan River and the Belmont Racecourse site sits Burswood Point by developer Golden Sedayu.

This project aims to be a “city within a city,” set against the backdrop of Perth’s renowned Optus Stadium and Crown Resort. Poised to transform the Burswood Peninsula precinct, it will introduce vibrant wining, dining, and shopping options.

Finbar Group is taking on a new project within the Springs Precinct in Rivervale.
