Queensland real estate: Mick Fanning and his partner Breeana Randall
World surf champ Mick Fanning is building a spectacular oceanview mansion inspired by the sea, after leaving a dream home rocked by a stalker nightmare.
Named Onda after the Spanish word for wave and vibe, the luxury new home marks a new chapter for the Gold Coast surfer and his partner, Breeana Randall, who collected $16.05m for Rolling Seas, a luxury beachfront home turned holiday accommodation.
The couple, who have two children, moved out after stalker Sarah Anne Foote broke into the Bilinga property in February 2020. Foote was convicted of unlawful stalking in 2021 and sentenced to 15 months in jail.

Fanning, a three-time world champion and Aussie sport Hall of Famer, paid $6.54m in 2023 for a 787 sqm parcel with elevated coast views. An existing four-bedroom property on the site was demolished, and Brisbane-based builder-developers Graya engaged to design a contemporary three-level mansion.
“We’re excited to share our latest project, ONDA,” Graya director Rob Gray said in a social media post.
“Positioned on a rare beachside site, ONDA is a celebration of coastal connection and barefoot luxury, where design flows as effortlessly as the tide.
“ONDA captures the rhythm of the ocean and the relaxed energy of life by the sea.”

Fellow Graya director Andrew Gray described the build as a “passion project”.
“With architecturally designed houses, there’s a lot of detail, they’re very tricky, it’s almost like you can build an apartment block for the same amount of management,” he said in an interview with the Courier Mail earlier this year.
“At one point we were doing 15 houses at once and it was way too much. The houses we do now are passion projects, like Mick Fanning’s.”

Open-plan living zones are anchored by light timber floors and a striking marble-edged island bench, while the pool is flanked by entertaining terraces capturing panoramic beach views.
Other features include a bar, sauna, and ice baths.
Blending coastal influences with a modernist edge, the home is currently under construction and marks a departure in style from their last rustic Hamptons-inspired beachfront estate.

Fanning grew up in Coolangatta and built his career carving the area’s renowned breaks.
He has owned several other Gold Coast properties, offloading a designer Tugun house with an indoor for skate ramp for $3.3m in November 2024 as he prepared for the luxury new build.
PropTrack’s latest Home Price Index shows values on the Gold Coast were up 10.06 per cent over the year to October 2025, hitting a fresh high of $1.228m across all dwellings.
