Macquarie Bank’s head of personal banking, Ben Perham, and filmmaker Kate Riedl have listed their Palm Beach property for $10m-$11m and LJ Hooker agent Peter Robinson says hands down it has the best beach view with the widest frontage in the suburb.
“I haven’t sold a better view in Palm Beach and I’ve been doing this job for 20 years,” he says.
“It is north facing with a 50m-plus frontage and every room shares in the spectacular vistas.”
The power couple bought Salt on Florida Rd in December 2019 for $6m.

The agent, who’s been selling for 20 years, can’t recall a home with a better view.
The substantial home is 300m from the sands of Palmy and would suit a holiday home buyer but about 30 per cent of buyers in the suburb are permanent residents so it could be a principal place of residence too.
The view from Salt is the postcard image with views the entire sweep of the beach from the rock pool to the lighthouse.
The house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a double garage and is on 1145sq m of land. There are no neighbours and it has a large terrace, wood fireplaces, hardwood floors and an entertainer’s kitchen.
The vendors have owned the property since 2019.
Robinson says, after the disruption of Covid when half the buyers were looking for permanent homes to work from, it’s back to a traditional Palm Beach market with most buyers looking for a holiday home.
“There is a good buyer pool across different price ranges and not much on the market,” he says.
“There are only nine or 10 properties for sale in Palm Beach and only one in Whale Beach. “We will have some good stock over spring but there won’t be too much – I’d say there will be an equilibrium.”
