A waterfront home at Benowa is set to make waves, offering just the right blend of relaxed family living and the ultimate entertainer’s lifestyle.
Enjoying 23m of water frontage, the property is located at 36 Selkirk Ave and features four bedrooms, a media room, and expansive indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces as well as a resort style swimming pool and boat pontoon.
Owners Jaimee and George Caralis bought the property seven years ago as a centrally located base for their growing family.

“We bought the property in 2019 the day before our youngest child was born,” Ms Caralis said. “The kids are now six, eight and 14 so for our youngest child it’s the only home he has ever known.”

Set on a single level, the home faces north and boasts soaring ceilings in the main living area as well as an expansive indoor-outdoor entertaining space overlooking the pool and water.
“When we walked in, it just had this presence with the high ceilings, the water views, and this lovely feel,” Ms Caralis said.
“It’s a lovely space, and once you get in there, you realise just how big it is.”
During their time living there, Mr and Ms Caralis have added their own personal touches to the property, updating the pool area, repainting the interior, and installing new carpets.
“We turfed and transformed the pool area to make it more of an extended entertaining area,” Ms Caralis said.
“And we just love that space.
“Spending time down by the pool under the gazebo, sitting in the lounge chairs and watching the kids play is pretty special.”

The updated pool area adds to the property’s entertainer appeal, offering a waterside terrace in addition to the open plan kitchen, dining and living zone that connects with the covered patio and al fresco area.
“The property is fabulous for entertaining,” Ms Caralis said.
“The bifolds all open up and the outdoors becomes the indoors.
“We’ve held many Christmas parties and family events here.”
The home also features a media room, secure parking for two vehicles, three secondary bedrooms, and a spacious master suite with water views.

“The main bedroom is pretty sizeable,” Ms Caralis said.
“And that extra space is always good and especially when you have young kids.”
Located near the end of a cul-de-sac on a large 954sq m block, the home enjoys proximity to local shops, schools, and the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens.
“The location was part of what drew us to the property,” Ms Caralis said.
“Benowa is so central. It’s close to Surfers, the highway and Pacific Fair, and the neighbourhood is really lovely.
“There are lots of long-term neighbours who really look out for one another and there’s this sense of camaraderie.”

Ms Caralis said the combination of the central location, functional design, and waterfront lifestyle made the property an ideal home for a range of people.
“It’s all one level, which was important to us as a young family, but it also makes it great for older couples as well, and anyone in between,” she said.
But after seven years enjoying their idyllic waterfront home, the Caralis family is ready for their next adventure.
“We’re sad to see it go as our babies have grown up here but it’s time for a new chapter,” Ms Caralis said.
The property is listed with Jayne & Aly of Cole Residential - Isle of Capri.
