A rare triangle-shaped urban island is causing waves after the only home on it hit the market in one of Australia’s hottest capitals.
The whole world grew up around 58 Kingsholme Street, Teneriffe, where a house called Avondale was built in 1900 and today occupies the entire 1,152sq m urban island, surrounded by three streets which act as a moat to the historic estate.

With “no immediate neighbours and over 150m of exclusive three-street frontage” it’s potentially a never-to-be repeated scene in Brisbane’s sizzling inner-city market which has surged to make the capital city region the second most expensive in the country.
The owners are Garima and Ameet Jeraj of the Infinity Group – the largest Australian franchisees of the Wesfarmers-owned Priceline health and beauty retail brand and pharmacists by training.
They had paid premier Queensland tiling family the Majers $8.5m for the home in March 2023 – more than tripling the price it fetched 15 years earlier in 2008. The Majers are the founders of the tiling kingdom bearing their name which was sold to Australia’s largest tiling retailer Beaumont Tiles for an undisclosed sum in 2013.

The three street frontage was described as “extraordinary” in a listing by real estate agents Matt Lancashire and Scott Darwon of Ray White New Farm – who have the heritage home set to go under the hammer at 9am on November 30 at The Calile Hotel.
The Federation Queenslander is just 250m from the river, offering what agents said was “an incomparable lifestyle in an exclusive enclave of Teneriffe”.
The 1,152sq m site has a four bedroom heritage home, 2.5 bathrooms, and two garage spaces, as well as development approved plans by Tim Stewart Architects, a pool, spa, wraparound veranda, two water tanks, and even a double sided fireplace.
The property is 250m to the popular Riverwalk which is a recreational walking, running and cycling hotspot, 1km to New Farm Park and 2km from the Howard Smith Wharves precinct and CBD.
