The old vicarage at 13 Mercer St, Queenscliff, is selling via expressions of interest for $4.9m to $5.3m.
A fresh push is on to find a buyer for a 160-year-old Queenscliff manse occupying one of the town’s largest private landholdings.
‘The Vicarage’ at 13 Mercer St has only changed hands twice in its long history, with the current owners purchasing the three-storey brick residence 20 years ago.
They’ve since restored the circa 1864-1865 home that previously housed Queenscliff’s Anglican vicars for more than a century.

The conservatory takes in views of the expansive garden.
The formal dining room on the ground floor links to a balcony.
The 1383sq m property was originally advertised in early 2024 for upwards of $7m, but has now been relisted with $4.9m to $5.3m price hopes.
RT Edgar, Bellarine agent Holly Hakins is calling for expressions of interest by March 20.
She said properties like the vicarage rarely came to market.
“The Vicarage isn’t just a beautiful period home – it’s part of the fabric of Queenscliff,” Mrs Hakins said.
“It’s one of those places everyone knows. You’re right in the heart of Queenscliff, but there’s a sense of privacy and calm. It’s the best of both worlds.”
The home has multiple living rooms, many with open fireplaces.
The kitchen has a central island bench and loads of cupboard space.
The poolside terrace is a summer delight.
The renovated now five-bedroom, four-bathroom house is set among beautiful gardens next door to another local landmark, St George’s Anglican Church.
Tall ceilings, multiple fireplaces, including some decorated with marble mantels, and original terracotta floor tiles on the lower level hark back to home’s Victorian-era origins.
More recent additions include an impressive conservatory, French provincial style kitchen, a swimming pool and brick paved terrace.
The lower level of the home is configured as a self-contained space with two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge, kitchen and wine room.
Views of the township and Port Phillip Bay can be seen from the upper floor where you’ll find the main bedroom suite.
Mrs Hakins said another separate guest bedroom suite with an infra-red sauna could be used as a gym or retreat.
