Celebrated artist and fashion illustrator Kerrie Hess — whose client list includes the likes of Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co — has turned her hand to property, revealing the beautiful renovation of a character home in Brisbane’s south.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 19 Avesnes St, Holland Park, has just hit the market and oozes the same style that has made the Brisbane-born designer so famous.

Ms Hess said she bought the 1950s house from her parents in 2016, not long after returning to her home town from Paris, and has since lovingly restored the home to its former glory, while also modernising it.
“The feeling of the home now is bright and calming with a modern Hamptons sensibility,” she said.
Ms Hess said she had styled the house with lots of pale white and cream tones, and a hint of gold.
“There are some touches of Hamptons style too — in the kitchen and the original restored blue front door and arched fireplace,” she said.
“This door was actually originally inside in cream. I had her trimmed to fit the front, gold hardware restored, and painted Seacliff blue.
“I added a beautiful en suite off the primary bedroom, and a completely new kitchen and double carport to modernise the property.

“I also thought about everyone I know working from home or with a small business, and wanted to create a beautiful and inviting home office space from what was the original garage.
“I can imagine the owner walking down from the house to this lovely separate home office with a coffee each morning to create an inspiring business or simply work from home with the feeling of separation from day to day life.”
Ms Hess said the home had been in the family for nearly a quarter of a century, so it was sad to say goodbye.
“I always wanted to renovate it in keeping with the original features, but bring a modern European style to the home.
“I wanted to make it a house that I myself would love to live in. I feel like my work on the home is done now and I’m excited for a new owner to enjoy living in it!”
The property is scheduled for auction on November 16 with Madi Roche of The Agency, Brisbane.
Records show it was last listed for rent at $625 a week.
Ms Roche sold Ms Hess’s previous home at 70 Barker St, East Brisbane at auction for $2.3 million late last year.
Holland Park is a highly sought-after suburb with a median house price of $1.35 million.
