150 Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach

You know the home’s luxe when you tear your eyes from the ocean to glimpse the Aston Martin driving in beneath your rooftop glass-bottomed pool.

Add an in-house Pilates studio, 150-bottle wine cellar, and stunning travertine entertaining terrace, and you have just some of the highlights of the jaw-dropping villas crowned Australian Apartment of the Year.

Created as a family home and showpiece for top-notch builder Mactech, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Palm Beach property is going under the hammer for the first time.

The cantilevered pool is a showstopping feature

Soleil was crowned Aus Apartment of the Year

Named Soleil, the villa at 150 Jefferson Lane is on the market after Mactech director Nick McDonald and his partner Bridgette moved into their new home, a spectacular clifftop mansion at a nearby beach, with their two young children.

Soleil is marketed by Coastal agents, Ed Cherry and Cooper McCormack, and goes to auction on December 12.

Designed by Jayson Pate and completed in 2024, the development, comprising two luxury three-storey villas over a 1,038 sqm site, has since been awarded a slew of honours, including the 2025 HIA Australian Apartment of the Year.

The rooftop has views south to Currumbin

Mr McDonald said the design evolved to maximise panoramic views south to Currumbin Beach by adding height.

“Our original design only had 3m-high ceilings, but once we got the drone up and saw the views to Currumbin Alley, we worked out that we needed another metre,” he said.

“That gave us 3.75m ceiling heights in the living area which turned into a huge feature because it just feels super special, and once we’d added that height we needed to add more to the interior design to complement it, and that is where the floating planter boxes came in.”

An palette of organic materials softened by greenery

Indoor/outdoor flow

Known for other local showstopper properties including the Jefferson apartments – a favoured photo backdrop for influencers and models – Mr McDonald wanted to ensure he upped the ante with this project, being his own home and on such a popular coastal stretch.

“We wanted to get the best view we could, but also being our own place and a representation of Mactech we needed to make sure we stepped it up to make it as special as we could.

“I wanted to make it feel organic and have a really good flow through it to keep that connection to the ocean,” he said.

Mr Cherry described Soleil as “a masterclass in immersive, innovative and understated luxury, blending coastal serenity with European elegance”.

Open-plan living over three levels

A private lift connects all levels across the home’s 581 sqm floorplan, integrating an organic material palette of timber battens, natural stone, marble, microcement, and textured Rockcote render, softened by cascading greenery.

Interior features include a contemporary open-plan kitchen and living zone with a fireplace, extending to a covered alfresco area finished with Moroccan crazy pave tiles.

The ground level houses the gym, media room, and wine cellar.

The master bedroom is another design moment, complete with a 3.5m ceiling, private terrace, designer dressing room, and ensuite, while all bathrooms are fitted with spa-inspired finishes, including travertine flooring and marble vanities.

PropTrack data shows apartment prices in the suburb were up 11 per cent over the past year, to a median of $1.11m.
