The most-viewed properties of 2025 in every Aussie city have been revealed
A high-end home offloaded by the embattled Outback Wrangler mid-trial, a media couple’s grand harbourview estate, and a stone manor with a lovers’ retreat named The Doll’s House — the homes that went viral in 2025 were nothing if not diverse.
Australia’s fascination with luxury real estate and those who own it showed little sign of slowing, with a prestigious 17ha estate in Adelaide crowned the most popular listing across all capital cities, notching up 73,548 views on realestate.com.au in the 12 months to October.
Manoah House was Adelaide’s most clicked-on listing
REA economist Eleanor Creagh said the listings with the most views were homes “people love to look at”, rather than ones they intended to buy.
“Real estate has become a national obsession, and scrolling through incredible properties is almost a hobby in its own right,” Ms Creagh said.
“Viral listings tend to be aspirational, with a wow factor or something unusual, whether that’s dramatic views, luxury price points, architectural design, big blocks, or a property that feels more like a resort than a home.”

Strong performers included lifestyle regions like the Adelaide Hills, Gold Coast, and Brisbane’s eastern suburbs, along with prestige inner Melbourne postcodes like Toorak and South Yarra.
“A common thread is a sense of the unique and homes with scale and presence, whether it’s a grand period property in a blue-chip suburb, a family estate with room for a pool and a tennis court, or a rural escape,” Ms Creagh said.
“While the properties themselves are quite diverse, they tend to stand out from the everyday and offer something distinctive that drives views.”

Known as Manoah House, the unique property at 9 Manoah Dr, Upper Sturt was held by family-owned hotel operator Piermount, headed by prominent publican Brett Matthews.
The heritage-listed stone manor serves as headquarters for the owners, who also run two popular short-term holiday rentals from cottages on the grounds. These include ‘The Doll’s House’, a cosy couples’ retreat, and ‘The Cottage’, former servant quarters given a luxury makeover.
“Manoah House is such a beautiful property — one that we would love to hold onto for generations to come — but we are putting our focus on the hotels,” marketing manager Chloe Matthews said.
According to the listing, the 28-bedroom estate, also comprising six tenanted units and stables, was the summer residence of former SA Attorney-General Sir Josiah Symon in the late 19th Century.

Arts patron slashes asking price for South Yarra mansion
All eyes were also on Melbourne’s luxury scene, with top billing going to a mansion at 28 Marne St, South Yarra recording 61,337 views since last year.
Held by arts patron Jennifer Shaw, whose family owned a Bourke St building housing the Kozminsky jewellery store, the contemporary home behind a striking 1930s heritage facade has been on the market since February.
Its $40m-plus initial asking price was slashed by $5m two months later, but still no buyer has been secured for the swanky five-bedroom pad featuring a 12-car garage, rooftop pool and an entire leisure level with a gym, infra-red sauna, steam room, home theatre and billiards room.
Property watchers in the southern capital were more active in 2025 than their Sydney counterparts, with four other Melbourne city estates recording more clicks than the Harbour City’s most popular home.

It had been renovated by heritage architect Clive Lucas, with features including a tennis court, heated pool and spa with a poolside cabana and bar, while an old coach house was reimagined as a home theatre and teenagers’ retreat.
But the grand 122-year-old estate described as “a magnificent example of superbly preserved Federation architecture” in Sydney’s salubrious lower north shore was trumped by the Top End.

The buyer had the option to take Wright’s 4.5m saltwater croc with the house
The property notched up 55,610 online views, with Wright offering to include a resident 4.5m saltwater croc named ‘Spicy’ in the sale. It changed hands for $1.3m in October, while Wright was found guilty of two counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice by a Supreme Court jury in Darwin.
