This 1980s architect-designed home at 13 Highett Rd, Highton, is on the market for the first time.


A hidden Highton estate just a stone’s throw from Buckley Falls is the stuff of dreams for families searching for space and seclusion.

They have extended and refreshed the two-storey residence, completed in 1987, over the decades to accommodate their five children and eight grandchildren.

With its double brick construction, the now five-bedroom home displays a level of quality and scale not often found today.

The vendor’s daughter said she spent two years living with her parents and three boys aged under three.

“The house is unique in the sense that you can move through it silently,” she said.

“The style of the house allows for harmonious multi-generational living and I was lucky to have an extra pair of hands to help out at that stage of our lives.”

She said her parents would miss the sunsets from the property, the artist studio with its antique French wood burner, the library and the vast walls for displaying their art collection.
