Billionaire businessman Adrian Portelli has dropped a major reality TV bombshell, announcing he has joined Channel 7 reality TV show My Reno Rules.

The richlister was well known on Channel 9’s The Block where he made a name for himself dropping millions of dollars on properties at the show’s auctions – effectively coming to show’s rescue when it didn’t attract the bidding expected.

Portelli had forewarned “something big is coming” before Thursday’s morning’s big reveal that he had signed on with rival channel 7’s renovation show.

“Bet my high school teachers never thought… I’d have my own TV show on Channel 7,” he posted online.

In what could easily be construed as a dig at The Block, he added “the reno games looking a little dusty. Time for a fresh coat. The gloves are off.”

Portelli hit the headlines this week when The Block host Scott Cam said he won’t miss him on auction day.

The Block host believed the billionaire businessman’s decision to retire his paddle after spending more than $27 million on eight houses would pave the way for families to get back in the bidding.

Portelli broke records last year when he snapped up all five Phillip Island properties for more than $15.03 million.

In the previous year, Portelli earned the nickname “Lambo Guy” when he rolled up to the Gisborne auctions in a Lamborghini and bought three out of five houses.

Portelli built a name for himself when he founded auto enthusiast club LMCT+, a promotions and giveaway platform with a focus on luxury vehicles and prestige houses.

His profile increased when he became a regular bidder on The Block.

He regularly shares his lavish life online, with overseas holidays, luxury cars and houses, and his young son often appearing.

The Block will premiere on July 27 while My Reno Rules is tipped to air in 2026.
